The 45th Japan Kobudo Demonstrations was held at Nippon Budokan on February 6th.
Unfortunately, the event was held without spectators, but the 27 leading Ko-ryu martial arts Soke and his students performed.

To all Daito-ryu Aikijujutsu Branch/Study group Chiefs
2021 is about to end under the influence of the unprecedented COVID-19 disaster that has involved the entire world. I would like to express my deepest sympathies to all the affected students and their families. And I am proud as Hombucho that many of the students made best efforts to continue practicing even under the circumstances of going out restrictions and dojo closure in each country.
I will give you a brief annual report.

Regularly online seminar held on every second Sunday from21:00(Japan time)
All the following events scheduled for 2021 have been cancelled.
Asakusa demonstration of Japanese Traditional Martial Arts, Slovakia seminar, Kastuura camp.
・ If requested, we will hold special practice of the headquarters. Please contact and ask us directly.
・ I would like each branch to participate in the demonstration of the Japan Traditional Martial Arts Association and Japan Traditional Martial Arts Promotion Society, and overseas seminars. If you or your students would like to participate, please consult with Hombucho.
I would like to return to normal as soon as possible and hold regular seminars and camps, but we cannot predict at this present. Online seminars will be held on the second Sunday of every month, and online branch/study group chiefs’ meetings will be held at any time. I would like to overcome this difficulty while strengthening communication between students.
Let’s defeat COVID-19 and spend 2022 well.

尚、マスク着用・消毒・換気・検温等各自コロナ対策は万全を期して行うこと。

2021.06.01Remote promotion examination for overseas students
Considering the current situation that Katsuura training camp and overseas seminars cannot be held for 2 years due to COVID-19 disaster, we plan the promotion examination remotely as follows.
◯ All students of overseas branches and study groups are eligible (requires the recommendation by the branch / study group chiefs).
◯ This can be achieved remotely by sharing video files between the headquarters and overseas branches / study groups.
◯ This is a special measure only this year.
◯ Only Sho-dan (1-dan) examination will be conducted.
◯ Successful applicants are required to participate in the next year’s overseas seminar or Katsuura training camp. Also, successful applicants are required to participate in monthly online seminars as much as possible.
◯ Implementation schedule
・ Notification to all branches / study groups ( by this email): April
・ Submit examination application documents to the headquarters: Until the end of May
・ Video sharing: Until the end of June
・ Examination conducted at the headquarters: July (planned)
・ Pass / Fail Announcement: August (planned)
◯ Expenses, etc.
・ Examination fee: 10,000 yen / person
・ Certification fee (passers only): 10,000 yen / person
◯ Please note that we will not present (send) black belts to successful applicants this time because of the remote situation.At first, the branches / study groups to which the applicants belong are required to inform the approximate number of applicants to the headquarters by Sunday, May 9th.
We will send the examination application form and video sharing procedure by e-mail to the relevant branches / study groups.
